‘Meet the Buyer’
The latest ‘Meet the Buyer’ event organised by PetQuip will provide British suppliers to the pet sector with the opportunity of meeting with pet product buyers from a wholesaler and retailer from Estonia, a retailer from Dubai and a major Polish wholesaler. The event is to follow the highly successful format of one-to-one meetings between suppliers and buyers that has resulted in important overseas business for the British participants at previous meetings.
The next meeting being held at the PetQuip headquarters in Brasted, Kent, on Wednesday 4 November 2009 will provide British suppliers with the opportunity to present their company and products to the buyers on a one-to-one basis.
The Estonian company is Nostrem Pet that provides veterinary services and is also a wholesaler and retailer of pet care products. The company imports high quality goods for dogs, cats, birds, hamsters and fish and is interested in all pet care products except dogs and cat foods.
The Dubai Garden Centre is expanding into pet care and is looking to source bird feeders and accessories for cats and dogs as a result of the PetQuip event. The company is a subsidiary of the Desert Group and the first western style garden centre in the United Arab Emirates. It is the largest garden and plant shop in the UAE and provides a one-stop-shop for a wide range of pet and garden products, plants and accessories.
Also seeking to expand its pet products range is Badis of Poland, one of the largest wholesalers of pet care products in the country with warehouses in Warsaw and Radzymin. The company supplies pet retailers, sub-wholesalers and the Metro cash & carry / hypermarket chain throughout Poland. Badis is an exclusive distributor for various British, German and Japanese suppliers and also imports on a non-exclusive basis. It currently stocks over 5,000 products and is seeking to expand its ranges of dog and cat foods, aquarium products and food for birds and rodents.
PetQuip is hoping to attract other overseas buyers from the pet sector for the 4 November event. Other buyers from Estonia and France attending the event are interested in acquiring a wide selection of garden and landscape products from members of Gardenex, the export federation which shares its offices with PetQuip.
During the ‘Meet the Buyer’ event, attendees can also take the opportunity to visit the federation’s research library, meet with the PetQuip and Gardenex teams and find out about our programme of initiatives for next year.
