PetQuip & Government To Organise Export Event In Russia
The PetQuip and Gardenex federations have joined with UKTI and two other consumer goods trade associations on a government initiative to promote British Lifestyle products to key Russian buyers and press in Moscow in March 2010. The event (14-20 March 2010) is open to pet, garden and leisure companies and the invitees to the event will include a wide range of buyers from the pet, garden and leisure sectors as well as the leading trade and consumer press.
The itinerary will include a pre-event seminar on conducting business with Russia, tailored sectoral market information, a one day showcase at the British Embassy in Moscow, a VIP reception and a briefing at the Embassy. There will also be optional retail tours and the opportunity to arrange individual meetings in Moscow and to extend the stay in order to visit buyers in St Petersburg. Key pet and product buyers representing distributors and retailers will be among the invitees to the Embassy showcase and all UK participants will receive market research information for their sector.
Both the Russian pet and garden sectors are of significant importance to British exporters. In the pet product sector, Russia’s sales are growing at 20-30% per year and the country ranks second (after the US) in terms of number of pets per capita. With around 18,000km2 of garden area in Russia, Eurogarden considers the garden market to have huge potential.
The event is open to members and non-members of the federations but there are only a limited number of spaces available, so companies should contact PetQuip or Gardenex to confirm their interest. The federations have issued application forms to all member companies. Participants will be urged to attend a pre-event briefing meeting in London on Wednesday 11 November when details and logistics will be discussed and further information on the Russian market will be provided.
